It is a perfect treat for sweet tooths with a perfect blend of mouthwatering flavours. Easy to make, this strawberry lemon shortcake recipe is something you cannot miss.
Here is how to make it
For Shortcakes:
For whipped cream:
Preheat your oven to 450 degrees.
Get a small bowl and mix softened butter and lemon zest together until blended.
Get another bowl and toss strawberries with sugar. Keep it aside.
Take a large bowl and mix flour, sugar, baking powder, lemon zest, salt and cubed cold butter.
Mix until looks like coarse crumbs.
Take another bowl and whisk Keventer Metro toned milk and egg yolk until blended. Now, add it to the flour mixture and stir until you get the dough.
Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and divide the dough into 4 portions and make 3/4-inch-thick circle out of each.
Place each circle apart from each other on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake it until golden brown (usually takes around 10 minutes).
Remove them from the oven and on the other hand, beat cream and sugar in a separate bowl until soft.
To serve, split the cakes into half and spread the lemon-butter mixture into the split. Add whipped cream and strawberries at top and serve.
