World Food Safety Day is just around the corner and World Health Organisation is gearing up to spread the message of, "Food safety: prepare for the unexpected," with gusto. However, long before the international organisation declared the theme for the year, we had realised the critical importance of taking proactive measures in safeguarding food from all potential hazards. Perhaps, this is the reason why, today, Keventer Milk is synonymous to quality wholesome milk that is delicious, healthy, and most importantly, absolutely safe for consumption!
As a brand that truly cares about the health of its customers, we, at Keventer Milk, have always tried to introduce innovations and ideas that makes our products the best-in-class. One of the most important steps that we took while introducing our three variants of Keventer Milk—Toned, Double Toned and Standardised—is to ensure that they are subjected to Ultra High Temperatures (UHT) and packaged in tetra packs.
Now what difference could that possibly make?
It simply made the milk you drink MUCH SAFER for consumption, whether you drink it immediately or five days after opening the pack!
Milk can easily get contaminated and also become the breeding ground for bacteria, listeria, and other disease causing germs. Loose milk is carried over long distances to be delivered to households and it is during this journey that the milk has the tendency of acquiring contaminants. Moreover, the soaring temperatures of our country only aides in the growth of microbes, while bad storage practices add impurities. Imagine what can happen to you if you drink this exceptionally hazardous version of milk!
Now some dairies try to reduce this contamination by adding harmful chemicals such as Formalin, which only worsens the quality of the milk. However, not us!
Firstly, while acquiring raw milk, we ensure that the cows are milked in a sterile and clean environment, the milk is captured immediately at the collection centre and its temperature significantly reduced to prevent heat from acting as a catalyst to bacterial growth. The cold liquid is then transferred to the factory in clean tanks.
Upon arrival, the milk is first tested to check for the addition of any harmful chemicals. Once the Quality Check Department gives us a heads up, the milk is pasteurised for 15 secs to remove most of the harmful bacteria from the liquid. Next, we apply the UHT process where milk is first heated to an extremely high temperature and then cooled down to an extremely low temperature in a matter of only 4 seconds. This revolutionary process gets rid of all the remaining bacteria while preserving essential nutrients and retaining the milk's innate goodness.
That's not where we stop though! We package our UHT milk in tetra packs that preserves its goodness and prevents it from getting re-contaminated due to six protective layers. Even without refrigeration or the addition of preservatives, this aseptic packaging gives Keventer UHT Milk a shelf life of six months! When opened and refrigerated, our wonder-milk can stay fresh for up to 5 days.
